Executives from luxury automotive manufacturer Jaguar held the global unveil for the new Sport and Speed option packs for the flagship Jaguar XJ saloon, alongside the award winning CX-75 supercar concept at the Dubai International Motor Show.
Swedish firm Vizualtech plans to build the first car in the summer of 2012, taking about six months to build each example by hand. The cars will be based on the Jaguar XKR chassis, using the R’s supercharged 5.0-liter V8 for 600 horsepower.

“We could do a crossover but there has been no decision yet,” said Hallmark. “A small sports car would be the best option for the brand, but their sales drop off dramatically in an economic downturn.” Hallmark also confirmed that Jaguar is investigating the feasibility of building the C-X75 hybrid supercar concept that debuted at the 2010 Paris Auto Show last fall.

When Porsche announced last Spring that it plans to built a production version of the 918 plug-in hybrid Spyder supercar, green car buffs rejoiced.
